Independent turbocharger cartridge replacement

You can replace the turbocharger cartridge yourself. With an electronic actuator adjustment is not required. Course of action:

• Unscrew actuator
• Remove housing. If the turbocharger is pinned then there is no need to mark anything
• Variable geometry is removed;
• Cartridge is being replaced, but before that the surface of the turbo housing and a variable geometry mechanism are cleaned from soot. It can be cleaned with gasoline, kerosene or various chemicals;
• We proceed to the assembly, starting in reverse order. We assemble and install the nozzle ring, check how it moves;
• Install housing, first it’s hot part and then cold. Tighten them with bolts;
• Install actuator.
